DESIGN/BUILD CONSTRUCTION PROJECT CHALLENGE

Conversion of a professional office building to a medical office building required significant modifications and facility retrofit construction planning to meet healthcare building code requirements.

Viox retrofitted a 40,000 square-foot, four-story existing standard professional office building into a medical professional building. Finished spaces included surgical suites, two pharmacies and a physical therapy room. The retrofit construction project included upgrading the interior and exterior mechanical systems, new HVAC system, and increasing the structural load capacity of the upper floors.

CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING SERVICES RESULTS

The new medical office building design involved the addition of a new commercial HVAC system, which included a new ductwork system through the center of the facility to bring fresh air into the medical procedures spaces. Additionally, a complete re-zoning of the air distribution systems was required for patient comfort and individual tenant spaces that were separate from the Cincinnati Medical Center.
