Challenge
Conversion of a professional office building to a medical office building required significant modifications to meet healthcare building code requirements.
Solution
Viox retrofitted a 40,000 square-foot, four-story existing standard professional office building into a medical professional building. Finished spaces included surgical suites, two pharmacies and a physical therapy room. The retrofit included upgrading the interior and exterior mechanical systems and increasing the structural load capacity of the upper floors.
Result
The new design involved the addition of a new duct system through the center of the facility to bring fresh air into the medical procedures spaces. Additionally, a complete re-zoning of the air distribution systems was required for patient comfort and individual tenant spaces that were separate from the Medical Center.
