CINCINNATI, OH -- April 2004 -- Viox Services Inc., one of the Midwest's leading facility maintenance, management and construction services firms, has been awarded a contract by Fifth Third Bank to provide comprehensive facilities services for the bank's entire portfolio of properties in eight states. The two-year contract encompasses $8 to $9 million in direct labor, management and professional facilities support functions. And as part of the contract, Viox will have direct oversight on behalf of Fifth Third Bank for all subcontractor services with total estimated expenditures of $30 million dollars annually.
Viox is a subsidiary of EMCOR Group, Inc., a Fortune 500 ® leader in the design, installation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems, facilities services and mission critical systems for a diverse range of businesses globally. The Group's diversity of services provides clients with end-to-end facilities services through its core businesses -- EMCOR Construction Services, EMCOR Facilities Services and EMCOR Energy & Technologies.
Based in Cincinnati, Fifth Third Bank is among the top 15 largest bank holding companies in the U.S. Its portfolio of properties include over 960 banking centers, 1200 total buildings, approximately 9,100,000 square feet of space, and 1,800 ATMs. The properties are located in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Florida.
Viox's contract covers all aspects of facility management and maintenance for the entire portfolio of banking centers, headquarters buildings, and operations centers. Approximately 85 staff people will be assigned to the contract, including some former Fifth Third Bank personnel who have become employees of Viox.
Viox has developed and is implementing a web-based call center for work assignment by teaming with EMCOR's 24/7/365 Knowledge and Response Center in Phoenix, Arizona and the Viox work order dispatchers in Cincinnati. This method simplifies the work order process and enables Fifth Third managers to request work through the web and immediately positions Viox dispatchers to assign work to its facility managers or mobile maintenance mechanics. All work tasks will be tracked in detail through a computerized maintenance management system with exacting standards and specifications.
"We are extremely pleased to be undertaking such a broad-based facility management assignment for one of the Midwest's premier financial institutions," commented Mike Viox, president of Viox Services. "Our 24/7/365 Knowledge and Call Center capability manages the process through a Web-based system, which enables us to provide Fifth Third Bank with significant cost efficiencies while ensuring timely execution and stringent controls for all facilities management and maintenance tasks."
